Kim Jong Un will "seriously contemplate the interesting content" of an "excellent" letter sent to him by Donald Trump.
The state news agency Korean Central News Agency reported that the North Korean leader "said with satisfaction that the letter is of excellent content".
It added: "Appreciating the political judging faculty and extraordinary courage of President Trump, Kim Jong Un said that he would seriously contemplate the interesting content."
In February, nuclear talks between America and North Korea broke down after the failed summit between Mr Kim and US president Mr Trump in Vietnam.
America wants North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons entirely before international sanctions are lifted.

However, North Korea has suggested a step-by-step approach instead which would see a staggered denuclearisation which is matched by concessions from the US.
