The Mary Poppins star lived in this substantial 7,005sqft townhouse during the 1970s with her children and her husband, Pink Panther producer and director Blake Edwards.
The Grade II Listed six bedroom house was built in 1835-36 on land owned by the Duke of Westminster, designed by Buckingham Palace architect Thomas Cubitt, and developed by legendary landlord Joseph Cundy.
Once Julie Andrews had wandered onto hills new, an Argentinian family moved in, only to find their neighbour was then Prime Minister and Falklands War leader Margaret Thatcher. Chester Square has been home to many famous residents over the years, from Roman Abramovich to Tony Curtis, Mick Jagger to Nigella Lawson.
“Named after Chester, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Westminster, Chester Square is a beautiful, leafy garden square set in the heart of Belgravia,” says Becky Fatemi, managing director at the selling agent Rokstone. “The elegant stuccoed houses are amongst the most exclusive and sought after addresses in prime central London.”

After the Argentines, super luxe developer Saigol DDC bought the house and refubished it from top to bottom, installing modern luxuries like a passenger lift, cinema, gym and spa. The main house is also linked to a mews property, with its own rooftop terrace and barbecue. Theres also a walk-out balcony and access to private gardens.
Aside from the portico entrance, surviving period features include grand fireplaces, ornate ceiling coving and book-matched marbles.
Fatemi says its likely to go to a buyer looking for “an abundance of bedrooms and space to entertain.”
