SINGAPORE – The film Joker has been surrounded by controversy since its release in cinemas last month, especially over the portrayal of its titular character, a failed comedian with mental illness named Arthur Fleck.
Isolated and ridiculed, he snaps one day and kills someone in self-defence, marking the start of a spate of violent crimes.
