God of War 2 PS5 Game Confirmed, more or less, by Sony PlayStation job ad for PS4 sequel (Pic: SONY)
Grab your axe and get ready to shout after your boy, God of War 2 is (probably) in the works.
This week, we've seen two little updates on the development of the highly-anticipated sequel to the PS4 exclusive.
After we saw hints that Sony Santa Monica was hiring back in January this year, we now seem to have even more proof that the next game in the long-running PlayStation series is in development.
This week, various job listings have cropped up on Sony Santa Monica's careers website – suggesting beyond doubt that God of War 2 is in the pipes.
Of the roles advertised, the most notable is for Senior Combat Designer. The listing for the role asks that applicants "have knowledge of God of War (2018) and be able to speak in depth about the combat systems, mechanics and enemies."
Another listing notes there's a vacancy for Facial Blend Shape Character Artist.
The job requires "next-gen video game platform experience," while a Systems Designer role is also looking for a candidate with "expertise in action games or action RPGs" for the next God of War game, purported to be God of War: Ragnarok, rather than plain old God of War 2.
Trending
If that's not enough for you, then it's worth looking over to God of War director Cory Barlog's Twitter.
Take a look at the first letter of every tweet the director has made since the anniversary of God Of War's launch on April 1st, and you'll see a very special message.
If you take all sixteen tweets and look at the first letter, you'll see it spells out “RAGNAROK IS COMING”
It's been heavily suggested that the next game in the series is going to be called God Of War: Ragnarok (mostly thanks to the same words, 'Ragnarok is Coming' appearing on a boat on a dynamic PS4 theme released in April).
Between these two things, it looks like Sony Santa Monica is really ramping up production on the game – does that mean we'll hear an announcement soon? We hope so.
