Fortnite mobile is coming: When is Battle Royale going to be released on iOS and Android
Fortnite is about to get bigger than ever. Here’s everything we know about it so far…

Fortnite developer Epic Games has announced that it’s bringing Fortnite Battle Royale to iOS and Android devices everywhere.

And, yes, frankly we’re excited.

Having taken the gaming world by storm since it first launched on console and PC last summer the battle royale free-to-play area of the game has become an essential for multiplayer madness.

And it seems that the Fortnite’s developer is hoping that success will translate to gaming on the go. Here’s everything we know about its mobile release so far…

What will Fortnite be like on mobile devices?

Announce the news earlier on today, a post on the Epic Games website revealed that Fortnite on the move will ‘be the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.’

That means that for players both old and new will be able treated to the same gameplay, content, maps, and weekly updates as the console and PC versions.

Huzzah!

It’s also reported that Fortnite Battle Royale on mobile will eventually support cross-play and cross-progression between the PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and the Android versions of the game.

This means that you’ll be able to play with and against players from other platforms, and that you’ll be able to team up with friends across devices – pretty darn cool, right?

Will I be missing out on anything if I only play on iOS/Android?

No, as we said above – and as far as Epic have let on – nothing will vary in the Battle Royale version of Fortnite on any platforms, including mobile

When is it available to download on iOS and Android?

The game’s developer explained that users will be able to sign up for an iOS beta starting on 12 March (that’s this coming Monday), with invites rolling out shortly afterwards.

Players who get an invitation will also get several invites to send to friends as well, so congrats to all you people with Apple products.

The bad news is Android fans will have to wait a little while longer, though support is planned for farther down the line in the next few months.

Likewise there are no details as to when the game will roll out completely across mobile devices.

What do I actually need to play Fortnite on the go?

To participate in the Beta you will need an internet connection and iOS 11 on at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices.
