Season 7 of Fortnite is going to see one of the most significant additions to the game so far, with a new DIY creative mode.
Its easy to forget, but Fortnite actually has two different modes, of which Battle Royale is only one. The other is a PvE mode called Save the World and was originally all the game was meant to be about.
But now theres going to be a third option called Creative, and it looks like it was being saved as a secret reveal at this Fridays Game Awards event.
Creative will be a greatly expanded version of the existing Playground mode and allows you to build your own levels and create your own mini-games, in what sounds like nod to fellow child-friendly games such as Minecraft and Roblox.
Although the reveal was supposed to be on Friday, it seems a number of influencers were told about it ahead of time and YouTuber Lachlan let slip early. As a result, he put up his video before he was supposed to and while its down now the details were immediately copied and preserved by other fans.

The video shows you being able to fly around the game world in order to mould the world, with no need to collect resources in order to build anything.
There are a lot of pre-made elements, including full assault courses, but given how building works in Battle Royale mode theres still plenty of scope to personalise your work properly.
You can then set up rules so you can play the map as a Deathmatch game or just somewhere to explore, like Minecraft.

Youre able to save your creations on the Fortnite server and revisit it with friends whenever you want, with a hub island that highlights already popular worlds from within the wider community.
The video above may be taken down by the time you read this but The Game Awards are due to start at 1.30am GMT on Thursday night/Friday morning, so youll get an official look at the mode soon enough.
Season 7 of Fortnite: Battle Royale is also due to start on December 6, but for anyone in the UK that will presumably also be Friday – unless youre an insomniac super fan.
