CNN political analyst David Gregory said the migrant caravan headed for the U.S. southern border should not be considered an “invasion,” citing a last-minute effort to fear-monger.
Gregory was discussing Trumps Thursday speech on illegal immigration in the Roosevelt Room of the White House and said the president is just looking for a fight. (RELATED: Trump Says Rocks Thrown By Migrants Will Be Considered Firearms By US)
“What the president wants here more than anything else is a fight. He wants a fight with what hell call an invasion and then voice that off on saying that, well, some people are calling it an invasion — which is not what it is,” Gregory said.

“He is really in a fight with what the facts are about immigration policy and as happens with so many issues, there are real issues and real challenges on our border that present huge challenges for our government that he has not been able to solve,” he continued.
Gregory also called Trumps speech a “fear-mongering” filled “final pitch” to voters before the upcoming midterm elections Tuesday.
“Its striking that nearly 40 percent of Republican voters care about the immigration issue. The president is highlighting it in his final pitch in such a hard-line way. He said that he was going to solve this problem in a way that President Obama could not,” Gregory said.
“He and a Republican Congress has been unable to do that. Thats whats striking about this fear-mongering as a final pitch.”
