SINGAPORE – In the early 1980s, American record label Def Jam played a defining role in the growth of hip-hop music, housing influential rappers ranging from LL Cool J to Beastie Boys.
Over the decades, its roster has included not just the newer wave of rap stars like Kanye West, but also marquee pop acts such as Justin Bieber and Rihanna.
