European governments Tuesday called on telecom companies to address risks associated with suppliers from third countries, a political signal that national capitals are ready to toughen up requirements for Chinese 5G equipment vendor Huawei.
In 5G security conclusions adopted at the Telecommunication Council in Brussels, countries said 5G “will increase the overall attack surface and require particular attention to the risk profiles of individual suppliers.”
