Kaz Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital and producer of the Gran Turismo video game series, has lifted the lid (bonnet?) on when fans of GT Sport can expect the new update to drop.
Tweeting over the weekend, Yamauchi confirmed a release date of 5th December for the next free DLC, along with one of the developers cryptic silhouette teaser images that gave nothing away when it comes to which cars could be added into the game.
Thankfully though, players already have a fairly solid idea about what content will be racing onto their game come December, thanks largely to the recent FIA-certified Gran Turismo Championship World Finals, which took place last week
Fans and fellow GT Sport websites such as gtplanet.net have noted that Polyphony Digital showed off a new track and several new cars during the event in Monaco.
Images of several of the other cars in the game build appeared in the background of the stream and in our forums after the event, including the McLaren P1 GTR, Datsun 240Z “Fugu Z” by Sung Kang, BMW M3 (E92) Coupe, and the C2 Corvette.
The new track, “Tokyo Expressway – South Outer Loop”, was confirmed during the World Finals live stream to be part of “the December update”, so we can assume it will be arriving on the 5th as well. Another new variation of the track, “South Inner Loop”, was also spotted.
gtplanet.net were also able to try out the new track.
In fact, the site has also written a quick analysis of the new track which you can read by following the link.
However, if you'd rather take a look at how it plays have a watch of the above video showing Nations Cup runner-up, Mikail Hizal, behind the wheel driving on the new South Outer Loop track.
In the meantime, stand by for updates from Sony and Polyphony Digital in the lead up to the new update on December 6th.
