Attract sequence
Count me as another one thats very disappointed to hear that SoulCalibur VI doesnt have a proper intro like the old games. I dont know whats happened to the art of the video game intro but it seems most dont have them anymore and if they do theyre just not very good or interesting.
I guess its because they used to get used as an attract sequence in shop windows and the like, and thats not really a thing anymore. (You know, I cant remember that last time I saw anything video game related in a shop window – even GAME tends to be smartphones and other nonsense).
I remember back in the Amiga days intros used to be super important and one of the things I most looked forward to with a new game. That was back when any kind of realistic or complicated graphics were still a novelty but it lasted through at least to the PlayStation 2 era. I guess companies think its just a waste of money now but it does help to set the tone and get you pumped for the game ahead. Surely thats still important?

I wonder if EA will ever consider bringing back Medal Of Honor? Now that WWII has made a bit of a comeback in terms of settings its easy to forget it invented the whole idea of WWII shooters. Heck, it was the first shooter of any kind I played back on the PS1.
It got in trouble because of just being a Call Of Duty clone, but now that Call Of Duty doesnt have a story campaign anymore maybe the time is right for a comeback. Battlefield was already a thing back when Medal Of Honor was popular, so I dont see that as a problem especially if it concentrates on the story campaign.
Crazy to think that you couldnt move for military shooters 10 years ago and now theyre getting kind of rare. Not that I want to go back to the mass saturation days but its nice to have a variety.

I will never understand video game cheaters. I dont mean that in a naïve, Why do people do bad things? kind of why but I just dont get what they get out of it. If youre cheating youre always going to win so… doesnt that mean theres actually no point playing and youre just going to get the same thing over and over again?
Presumably thats not a concern or they wouldnt do it. But it just sounds so incredibly dull. I get the interest in wanting to cheat in the first place, of working out how you doing it and everything. Especially if youre the hacker that does it first, but otherwise what is there to brag about? That other people are too dumb not to cheat I guess?
People are strange but Im assuming most are probably dumb teenagers. I wonder if theres any stats on that?

Honest politics
I suppose I should at least respect that that Ubisoft was being honest, but their reason for not doing politics in games is pretty gross. Ive always found it distasteful that theyve kept the Tom Clancy branding given his views (and the fact that I bet most gamers have no idea who he was) but The Division in particular has such a disturbing set-up its basically a neo-fascist wet dream where you spend the whole game shooting poor people and other vaguely defined terrorists.
Sure its fantasy, but who has a fantasy like that and why are they being humoured like this? Theres a billion different ways you could have had the same setting but with a different explanation but Ubisoft went with the Trumpian wet dream that seems even more disturbing for the sequel.
All publishers avoid politics but Ubisoft are the only ones that create political backdrops for their games and then refuse to have their characters discuss it. Even Call Of Duty does better than that, despite having lots of plots that basically revel in war and American exceptionalism. Its a bad look for Ubisoft and I hope they reconsider, because its ruining a lot of good games for me.

Hello, just wanted to ask yourselves or one of the readers can help jog my memory regarding a certain game.
Im not sure if its already been released or if its still to come, but I think I watched this particular about six weeks ago. Or roundabouts.
It featured a red-haired space pirate girl talking to the camera. She had two other crewmates, both guys. Im not even sure what genre it was, but I enjoyed its sense of humour. Sorry thats not more to go on.

I have three nephews, all of who really enjoy Hot Wheels. Each time they visit I currently use YouTube so they can watch some of the Hot Wheels racing gameplay and one video showed up showing the games that were available on PlayStation. The series did appear in Forza Horizon 3 via DLC as well and this does lead me to wonder if we would ever see a collection of Hot Wheels games brought to consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One?
There are a few titles that I would like to see come over to the newer generation of consoles that could be ported into a compilation for those who would love to purchase this as a present for their nephews or children. These are Hot Wheels: Turbo Racing, Hot Wheels: Extreme Racing, Hot Wheels: Velocity X, Hot Wheels: Word Race, Hot Wheels: Stunt Track Challenge, Hot Wheels: Beat That. Id even like to see some PlayStation 3 titles possibly get a port into a collection.
If Mattel could some how do this it would be a great way for not only fans of this series but for those with children who also enjoy this series and would be a great addition to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It would also convince me to get a second Xbox One or PlayStation 4 so my nephews would be able to play a compilation if it ever did get released by Mattel so they could enjoy some of the best games in this series that was released before.

GC: Why not just get them some proper racing games instead of cheaply made, years old, licensed tat? TrackMania is the obvious place to start.

Agree with the reader who was complementing Treyarch on the job with Black Ops 4. Credit where its due I think theyve done a great job, and as you say without just straight copying anyone.
Im sure itll have no effect on Fortnite, since its free, but I suspect this will mean the end of PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds fairly quickly. The game has really dropped the ball in the last six months or so and missed its chance to fix itself and pretend its really finished.
Fortnite is technically still in early access too but youd never really know, while PUBG still looks and feels like someones half-finished mod project. A classic case of sitting on your laurels.

I have to admit I am beginning to feel Ive had enough of Assassins Creed Odyssey now. Im 30 hours in and there is no end in sight to the story. I havent done much grinding but Ive definitely had enough of the combat now.
