Mysterious American singer-songwriter H.E.R. is in Australia to headline the Lights On tour. Born Gabriella Wilson, H.E.R. says the moniker symbolises who she is – or was when she began recording H.E.R. Volume 1. She hopes people will focus on the music and not what she is wearing.

After spending the last year on a world tour, hard-working, Sydney-based musician Mark Wilkinson is on the road again. This time the singer-songwriter performs his full-length album Wasted Hours alongside some fan favourites. Celebrated Italian musician Toto Cutugno gained global success with L'Italiano (1983), following this up in 1990 when he won the Eurovision Song Contest with Insieme: 1992, a song of hope for the European integration that was set to occur two years later. Cutugno will perform a number of his hits.

Spotted by multi-instrumentalist James Morrison at the age of 16, jazz vocalist Emma Pask began her professional career. Pask and Morrison have since collaborated on six projects including Christmas. Opening today, I Hope You Get This explores the interconnection of art and activism. Through mediums including video, painting and zine production, Australian artist Raquel Ormella explores nationalism, political activism and environmental intervention. From the Australian banking system crisis in the 1890s to the Great Depression of the 1930s, Bankrolling Bendigo: Building A City investigates the financial systems and structures that spawned from the gold rush. The exhibition explores many of the facets of the mining industry that ultimately led to a permanent city, as well as the impact of Bendigo's economic rise on Melbourne. George's Marvellous Medicine is a stage adaptation of Roald Dahl's book of the same name. Grandmothers highlights the wonders of nonnas, bubbas, jaddas, yiayias and waipos. Exhibited across five locations, the joint project honours the often-overlooked role of grandmothers from a variety of cultures through films, portraits, interviews and photographs.
