The latest Pokémon RPG will be released on the Nintendo Switch later this week. and offers an update to the classic RPG games.

It will be available in two versions – Pokémon: Lets Go Pikachu and Pokémon: Lets Go Eevee.

Players will be able to sync up their Pokémon Go account with the game and transfer pokémon to bulk up their collection.

A controller shaped like a poké ball called the Poké Ball Plus will also be available to buy and use to play the game.

When is the release date?

Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee! will be released on Nintendo Switch on Friday 16 November.

What is the difference between the two versions?

Both games will have a similar story and gameplay but their are various differences depending one which version you choose to buy.

One of the main differences is that your main partner pokémon will either be Pikachu or Eevee and they will each have their own exclusive moves and abilities.

Another key change between the two games is similar to the original Pokémon Red and Blue games, which is the different exclusive pokémon that they include.

These are the confirmed pokémon exclusives –

Pokémon: Lets Go Pikachu

  • Oddish
  • Sandshrew
  • Growlithe

Pokémon: Lets Go Eevee

  • Bellsprout
  • Vulpix
  • Meowth

Both versions will have legendary pokémon in the wild that you can catch including 3 Legendary birds – Articuno, Moltress and Zapdos.
