Two bands became one when the Backstreet Boys spiced up their lives and became the Spice Boys.

The boy band, who have reformed and are set to go on tour, donned fancy dress to mimic the Spice Girls while on board a Backstreet Boys cruise, going from Miami to Grand Turk.

For one night only, Nick Carter played Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton, wearing a pink dress and blonde wig, while AJ McLean wore multiple pieces of leopard print to become Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown.

Brian Littrell played Melanie "Sporty Spice" Chisholm in a crop top and sports trousers, Kevin Richardson dressed as Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham in a black jumpsuit and Howie Dorough was Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell (now Geri Horner), in the classic union flag dress and boots.

They even sang the group's hits, including Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life.

It's understood the outfits were part of the cruise's 90s night, called Party Like It's 1993.

In videos shared from the performance, Carter joked that he had the nicest legs in the group while on stage, while Littrell added he had the "skinnest legs".

He said: "I have my daughter's legs, like literally."

They shared a picture of the group on Instagram, with the caption: "Celebrating all of the girl power that's kept us going for 25 years."

Richardson shared the same picture and added: "Sometimes ya just gotta SPICE things up."

However it may be Carter who won the prize for best outfit, as his pink dress was coveted by Baby Spice herself.

Sharing a picture and asking Emma Bunton how he did, he got a response from the radio host, who said: "Love it!!!! In fact I want that dress!"

Chisholm also enjoyed the tribute to their music, sharing the tweet with a series of laughing crying emojis.

The boy band is scheduled to release new music later this month and the Spice Girls are also planning on working together again.
