An unlikely tweet has been the catalyst to an online discussion on whether fans want a story-based Division spin-off.

If Ubisoft do decide to make a single-player, story-based version of The Division then, oddly, youll have the level director of Lego Star Wars to thank.

Seemingly out of the blue, TT Games Tim Spencer tweeted his idea of a game focusing on an agent trying to get home to their family after being sent to New York City, during the SHD (Strategic Homeland Division) blackout from the fall of D.C.

He implies the game would be a mix of The Last Of Us and The Division and added: None of the stories have explored what a Division agent sacrifices, and what they go through mentally. When you think about it: its a pretty dark/epic thing – theres huge opportunity to tell some incredible stories there.

The response from fans seems to be overwhelmingly positive, but while Gerighty gave no hint as to whether he was really considering a game like that, he did acknowledge the high level of interest.
