Naughty Dogs much anticipated sequel could be on course for a 2019 release after all, as they reveal development is going well.

Since Sony isnt going to be at E3 this year theres a huge amount of speculation as to what their future release plans might be, especially after they officially announced their next gen console.
After this months Days Gone they dont have any major first party games scheduled for release this year, with not even Dreams having a specific release date yet.
Thats led many to speculate that not only might Ghost Of Tsushima, Death Stranding, and The Last Of Us Part II be being left to next year but that they might end up being released as PlayStation 5 games from the start. Or perhaps not in The Last Of Us case…

As you can see from the tweet above development on The Last Of Us Part II seems to be proceeding apace, even though director Neil Druckmann makes no reference to when the game might actually come out.
Its also worth bearing in mind that stories – whether it comes to games or films – are almost never shot in chronological order and for all we know this couldve been the first thing they shot.
Although that seems unlikely and clearly not what Druckmann is implying.
