The Division 2 Update COUNTDOWN: Release time for Tidal Basin, World Tier 5 on PS4, Xbox (Pic: Ubisoft)

Ubisoft Massive is gearing up for The Division 2s first major slab of post-launch content. Tomorrows “Battle for D.C.” update will introduce the challenging Tidal Basin Stronghold as well as World Tier 5 and a shopping list of minor tweaks and changes.

Agents should also expect improved balancing as well as a reworking of Weapon and Skill Mods.

If that wasn't quite enough for fans to get stuck into (less than a month after the game actually launched!) Tomorrow's update will also kick off the game's first "Apparel Event".

Want to know when this is all kicking off and what to expect? No problem, keep reading for absolutely everything you need to know.

Release Time & Server Maintenance

The Division 2 will go down for maintenance this Friday (April 5th) at 9.30am CET with the servers scheduled to go back up after 3 hours, at 12.30 CET. Following the short period of downtime, The Division 2 should come back online, together with the new “Battle for D.C.” update.

Game Changes

In this weeks State of the Game broadcast, Ubisoft announced a number of changes. Firstly, The Division 2s Skill and Weapon Mods have been altered to make them more accessible. The update will reduce the Skill Power needed to equip Skill Mods but as your Skill Power increases, so too do the bonuses obtained from equipped Mods.

Weapon Mods will also see significant changes in the way they work. Previously, equipping add-ons such as scopes, attachments, and grips would have both a positive and negative effect on your loadout stats. For example, increasing accuracy while imposing a decrease in stability.

Ubisoft is removing all negative effects from Weapon Mods while slightly nerfing positive effects. This should make the process of customising your Agent more streamlined while encouraging experimentation.

The team at Ubisoft Massive is also looking to balance the game and has said it will be looking to focus on PVP. While waiting for the full official patch notes, what we do know is that M700 sniper rifle and MK 17 rifle will have their damage output nerfed. Meanwhile, both the Safeguard extra healing talent and Crisis Response ammo-replenish talent will be tagged with cooldowns to help balance them.

Finally, the developers are reworking several of The Division 2's skills.

The Sniper Turret will be able to automatically track targeted enemies and even aim for headshots and weak poitns. The Firefly will have an improved aiming mechanism, making it easier and quicker while locking onto enemies. The Chem Launcher will also see its handling improved, allowing players to wield it like a gun, giving them a more natural way of aiming the device.

Apparel Event

Battle for D.C. will also introduce The Division 2s first Apparel Event, offering players a chance to get their hands on some fancy new threads to dress up their Agent, including a new range of masks.

The first event will run from tomorrow, April 5th, to May 2nd. Simply log in during this time to receive a special cache crate with one of these limited cosmetic items inside. If you happen to own the games Year 1 Pass (or purchased The Division 2s gold edition) then youll get 3 bonus crates to pop open.

During the month-long event, youll be able to complete specific tasks – such as Projects – to unlock more event caches. Thankfully, none of the items you acquire will be duplicates.

World Tiers Explained: How To Unlock Tidal Basin

Those whove yet to reach The Division 2s endgame (or are only just crossing the level 30 threshold), heres what you need to know to access Tidal Basin when it launches.

Upon completing every main mission and Stronghold for the first time, The Division 2s map will reset. Youll now be at “World Tier 1” and instead of focusing on experience points and levelling up, you'll need to start building your Gear Score.
