The Big Bang Theory fans were convinced there was a secret wedding – in real life – recently, when Johnny Galecki and girlfriend Alaina Meyer appeared to show off rings on Instagram.
However, it turns out we all got the bunting out a little too early.
Johnny, who plays Leonard Hofstadter in the show, sparked speculation he had secretly married the 21-year-old after he uploaded a black-and-white snap of them on his page, looking loved-up in Las Vegas.
The pair seemed all kinds of cute in the photo, but the 43-year-olds 2.5million followers were more interested in the fact both were sporting bling on their wedding ring fingers.
I see matching rings, one commented.
Another jumped the gun a little, posting: Congratulations on your marriage.
And a third added: Congratulations on your marriage!! Youre a sweet couple!!
While they are a sweet couple, Alaina took a moment to pour cold water all over those wedding rumours as she shared the photo on her own page.
#notmarried, she captioned the shot.
So, thats that then…
Alaina and Johnny made their red carpet debut last month, after confirming their romance on the gram way back in July.
Since then, the pair have rarely been off each others feeds, and she has even popped in to see her beau on the set of The Big Bang Theory.
And theyll be able to spend a lot more time together once the comedy comes to an end, at the end of the current series.
However, while the show has given us a lot of laughs over the last 12 seasons, it seems the whole thing has been tinged with a lot of melancholy.
Which is just what you need from a sitcom…
Speaking about the finale episode, creator Chuck Lorre explained: We have a general idea of what we are aiming for with May and the finale.
These days theres a lot of melancholy in the background at all times. Its been a 12-year project that has been really just a joy. Its going to be very, very sad to let it go.
We know how you feel, hun.
