Rebellion has already announced Evil Genius 2 and Zombie Army 4 at E3 so far, but the publisher is not content – it still has more delicious treats to add to the wonderful buffet that has been E3 2019 so far.

Today's offering comes in the form of Sniper Elite VR – a standalone title that promises to take the nut-busting, skull-piercing, bone-shattering fun of the series and shove it directly in your face.

Sniper Elite VR has rebuilt the iconic X-Ray killcam to make it more suitable for VR – meaning you can get as close to the action as you want, without getting viscera and innards all over your lovely face. The dream!

Rebellion revealed that the game will be coming to PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, SteamVR and Viveport – though we have no information about when that's going to be at the time of writing.

We're going to get our grubby little hands on the game at E3, so be sure to stay tuned for our impressions on the game live from the show floor soon.

In the meantime, here's everything we know about the game so far.

"Developed in partnership with Just Add Water, Sniper Elite VR takes you to the incredible setting of World War 2 Italy," notes Rebellion in a press release.

"Its set prior the events of Sniper Elite 4, featuring a brand new story by Tony Schumacher, author of the acclaimed John Rossett novels."

That means fans of the series are going to be able to jump into the lore of the world a little deeper, and have more context for the ludicrous action that took place in the fourth instalment of the game.

"In Sniper Elite VR youre fighting for the Italian resistance to rid Sicily of the Nazi U-boat menace. Youll take on missions in an array of stunning new Italian maps."
