PHILADELPHIA – Mr Yusuf Abdurahman arrived in the United States in 1992 as a refugee from his country Somalia's ruinous civil war.

He had herded goats after school in Somalia. In Minnesota, he found work at a turkey meat packing company and learnt to deal with the long and biting cold winters of the north. Three years later, his first child Zacharia was born.
