Rupert Grint made a name for himself at the young age of 11 when he starred in the Harry Potter movies as the beloved character Ron Weasley.

Chatting to The Independent, the 30-year-old revealed that once hed finished his GCSEs, and filming for The Goblet Of Fire, he almost called it a day on the wizarding world.

He told the publication: I had just finished my GCSEs, I thought “Do I actually want to keep doing this” Its a bit of a drag because obviously its a big sacrifice.

The actor said: Its almost like having a split personality, sometimes it can be quite dehumanising to have people just taking pictures of you when youre out, to them, you are just this one thing, its a weird existence, but thats my life.

Just last month Rupert spoke to Metro.co.uk about the hardcore Harry Potter fans and how he still gets accosted on the street.

[Harry Potter] fans are different in every country, but here theyre quite hardcore, theyre…passionate, he told us with a smirk.

He said its easier to go under the radar while he stayed in Spain during filming, but he added of local fans: They want a conversation and a bit of a chat. More of an interaction, which is quite nice.
