Rose McGowan showed her support to Brendan Fraser Friday after he shared his own alleged sexual assault story in a GQ article published Thursday.

“I love you, Brendan Fraser. You’ve always been a friend in my mind, too. The Scarlett Letter is Phillip Berks,'” the 44-year-old actress tweeted in response to quotes from Fraser’s interview alleging that he was groped in 2003 at a luncheon by former Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Philip Berk.

“We were hurt by predators protected by the bad machine,” she added. “Shoot that arrow for all of us who hurt. [email protected]

McGowan was one of the first actresses to come forward about allegations of sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein.

The comments come after Fraser shared in the article what he says happened that day.

“His left hand reaches around, grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint And he starts moving it around,” Fraser shared. “I felt ill. I felt like a little kid. I felt like there was a ball in my throat. I thought I was going to cry.”

“I know Rose [McGowan], I know Ashley [Judd], I know Mira [Sorvino]—I’ve worked with them,” he added. “I call them friends in my mind…”I watched this wonderful [Time’s Up] movement, these people with the courage to say what I didn’t have the courage to say. ”

Berk told GQ that “The Mummy” star’s version was a “total fabrication.”

On Friday, the HFPA announced they have launched an investigation into Fraser’s allegations.

“The HFPA stands firmly against sexual harassment and the type of behavior described in this article,” the organization told Us Weekly. “Over the years we’ve continued a positive working relationship with Brendan, which includes announcing Golden Globe nominees, attending the ceremony and participating in press conferences. This report includes alleged information that the HFPA was previously unaware of and at this time we are investigating further details surrounding the incident.”
