After a stellar finale of Bodyguard, Richard Madden, who played protagonist David Budd, has let fans in on his wrap-party celebrations.

And it really is quite something.

The 32-year-old sunk a pint, which is what many would be doing after a joyous final scene, especially one shrouded in such drama and tension.

However, instead of getting into civilian clothes, the actor, who rose to fame after starring as Rob Stark on Game of Thrones, decided to head straight from the set to the pub still in his very hardcore costume.

Thats right, Richard decided to wear his prop suicide vest and keep the bloodied special effects makeup. It really is quite the office-to-pub look – and perhaps the easiest way to ensure youve got the bar all to yourself.

Taking to social media, the cheeky actor shared a shot of himself, looking a little bewildered, in a simple pub, beer in hand.

He wrote: Blown away by the response to #Bodyguard. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone whos watched and supported the show its truly overwhelming. Im so proud to have been part of the amazing talented team that worked so hard to bring this story to life. Cheers!!

Blown away? Ah we see what you did there.

Viewers were on the edge of their seat for the 75-minute finale, after becoming obsessed over the past five episodes.

As they pleaded for a series 2, they also shared their theories on what might happen to David, who made it out of the finale alive, should another season be upon us.

Still reeling (Picture: BBC)

From Julia Montague still not being dead in many of their eyes, some believed they had prophesied Budds new role, should a second series be a thing.

Season 2 of Bodyguard will be Bud transferred to DEFRA where he is caught up in a conspiracy to put Union flags on Scottish strawberries. How high will it go! one said.

Hmm were a little more sceptical of that one.

Another with a rather Shakespearian sense of humour added: @Misskeeleyhawes #Bodyguard so Bodyguard season 2…. David Budd gets married again and changes his name to Capulet…

Julia comes back from being secretly un-dead and they save the world together. Feel free to use @jed_mercurio.

They might just see their prophesy come to life, as well after Mecurio said he has plans for more seasons.

Speaking to The Sun, he said that the show may follow the footsteps of his other popular drama Line of Duty, which is on its fourth series and is scheduled for at least two more.

We have been very fortunate with the success of series one, he said. Its probably fair to say we would probably approach any thoughts of a second series with the idea that it would create an opportunity for a third or fourth.
