Red Dead Redemption 2 Update: Red Dead Online News and Rockstar E3 2019 PC rumours (Pic: ROCKSTAR)

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the biggest selling games of all time and the games online component, Red Dead Online, has further extended that months and months after the games initial release.

But there's also regular updates and this week Rockstar introduced a brand new Showdown mode, known as Public Enemy, in which opposing teams compete to take out each others designated (and rotating) Public Enemy to secure the most points and victory.

There's also a new Free Roam Event as of this week: Railroad Baron, a twist on King of the Castle, pits players against each other as they fight for control of a specific area on a moving train.

As if that wasn't enough already, all Red Dead Online players can score a version of the new Bellerose Hat for free just by logging in this week.

There's also 35% off all Provisions. And you can customize your Camp with a new flag, theme or an upgraded tent that recharges your cores more quickly while resting at camp with 25% off all Wilderness Outfitters offerings.

But that's just the main content updates to the game Rockstar wants you to know about. But on top of that, there's a great PlayStation exclusive bonus announced and rumours of a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release as well.

Details of which, you will find further down. So keep reading!

Looking beyond the normal spate of content updates for the game there's also some good news for PS4 owners, with some neat PlayStation exclusive bonuses announced earlier this week.

"PlayStation players have already enjoyed a host of exclusive benefits for playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online including early access to weapons, horses, clothing, Showdown Modes and more," bragged a new blog post on the PlayStation website.

"Were excited to share that in addition to these ongoing benefits, Red Dead Online players with a PlayStation Plus membership will receive special awards each month."

So what are these rewards?

Well, starting 10th June, that's this Monday, all players with PlayStation Plus (which at this point is everyone) that play Red Dead Online by 8th July on PS4 will get three free treasure maps.

The blog states that this will be sent to you within 24 hours of your first play session. So there's no waiting around.

"Visit the Post Office or your Camps Lockbox to retrieve the treasure maps and then use your satchel to open them up. The treasure map will reveal a location on your map to explore, ride out to the area and use Eagle Eye to search for your rewards, which could include Gold Nuggets, Cash, Ammo, Tonics, and Crafting Pamphlets."

Sorry Xbox fans, it looks like there's nothing in store for you this time around.
