QUEEN guitarist Brian May has shared a new video of himself performing for the first time in days after health problems.

Queens Brian May has been through a lot during the lockdown. The 72-year-old ended up in hospital after ripping his gluteus maximus while gardening and told fans he also had a minor heart attack. The rock star has understandably been struggling, but recently shared a new video where he performed for fans.

The post read: “Bending Strings and Pondering Things.

“Well, I hesitated to include this as a micro concert.

“But its the first time Ive picked up the guitar for many days of struggling to get there.

“No fireworks – just a first reacquaintance with my voice. So Im sharing it.”

May was wearing a Sheer Heart Attack T-shirt, which is the name of a Queen album and song.

The 72-year-old continued: “But also I wanted you kind folks to see that I still have a sense of humour in my choice of T-shirts !

“Thanks @anneatsaveme for this gem !!

“To be fair, the shirts were made long before I had my heart attack adventure.

The Queen legend added: “Anne asked me if she should withdraw them, but I told her it really didnt bother me.

“Perhaps it was all meant to be ! I think she has a few left, if you guys want to join the fun !

“Apologies for the fact that for the last part of this video, my left hand has slipped out of view.

“I must be out of practice! But at least you can see my right hand! Bri.”

At the end of the video, the resilient May said: “Well, good to see you folks again.

“I have no words, but Im happy to be kinda back on the horse, with my old lady here.

“God bless you all, lets talk soon.”

Earlier this month, May was named Greatest Rock Guitarist of All Time.

The poll was made up of Total Guitar magazine readers.

May topped Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page and even Jimi Hendrix.

The 72-year-old said: “Im absolutely speechless. Im blown away. I have to say its completely unexpected.

“Obviously Im deeply touched that people feel that way about me. Im not under any illusions that, technically, Im even on the tree of great guitarists.”
