PUBG Mobile Season 3 release date news and game updates for new iOS, Android patch

PUBG Mobile is an incredibly popular game – it challenges even the mighty Fortnite for playtime and downloads, continuing the trend of Battle Royale games dominating the gaming market on consoles and on mobile.

Since PUBG Mobile launched earlier this year, courtesy of Tencent, it has already amassed over 100 million downloads on Android and iOS – and that's excluding downloads in countries including South Korea, China and Japan.

So nabbing 100,000,000+ downloads in areas excluding the Eastern Market in that time is pretty impressive!

And we're likely to see it attract even more sales in the coming months, too.

Similarly to its rivals, PUBG operates in seasons – with each new season introducing new challenges and cosmetics for fans to try and unlock.

Currently, a lot of players are eager to hear more about PUBG's upcoming season 3, though at the time of writing, the PUBG Mobile Season 3 release date hasnt been officially revealed by Tencent or PUBG Corp.

That said, rumours abound that the new season could kick off this week.

According to the Indonesian Facebook page for PUBG Mobile, news on the end of Season 2 and the start of Season 3 may have been revealed.

A translated version of the statement reads: “Royale Pass ends on August 19 at 0:00 UTC (7:00 WIB). After that, players cannot enter the Royale Pass service. Cannot redeem prizes, get RP points.

“The New Season will start on August 22 at 2:00 UTC. RP points, data levels and leaderboard will be reset.

“The items you get from Royale Pass are permanent except those that are temporary (i.e. Custom Room).”

Bear in mind this information has not yet been confirmed anywhere else, and is therefore subject to change.

War. Huh. What is it good for? Absolutely everything in PUBG Mobile 0.70

PUBG fans are better off keeping their eyes on social media to see immediate updates and announcements on when they can expect the Season 3 information to be released – but for now, August 22 is the best information we have.

This comes after the mobile version of PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds released on the App Store and Google Play around the world on March 19, 2018.

“We want to thank our committed development team at Lightspeed and Quantum Studios and especially thank the devoted players around the world that continue to inspire us with their passion and dedication,” PUBG Mobile manager Vincent Wang noted.

“We will continue to set the bar for mobile gaming and look to deliver even more great contents to our players later this year.”
