PSN STATUS DOWN: PlayStation Network Errors codes and "80710016" PS4 Issues TONIGHT (Pic: DS)
Gamers are facing a frustrating evening as the PSN PlayStation Network appears to be down.
The popular service seemed to hit trouble around earlier this evening with PS4 owners complaining of being unable to play games or accessing the PSN network.
Independent website Down Detector has received thousands of reports that PSN is down across the UK and Europe.
The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect outages across the world.
And Sony's own Network Status Page is also showing services as being disrupted.
“You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features,” a message from Sony reads.
“Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.
There's no word on when the issues will be fixed.
But at the time of writing, the problems are causing trouble for services including Account Management, Gaming And Social, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Vue, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Music.
As you might expect, the PSN issues have heavily impacted new games such as Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and continuingly popular titles such as Destiny 2 and Fortnite Battle Royale.
So far the only other message from the Ask PlayStation support Twitter team reads:
"We're aware that some users are experiencing issues logging into PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate"
