PSN DOWN – UPDATE 1

Two hours have passed since Sony PSN first started experiencing issues and whilst the problems had appeared to subside at first, network and server trouble has gone haywire in the last 20 minutes (unfortunately we were travelling back from work and couldn't update the page).

A quick look shows that down detector reports have skyrocketed to over 4000 reports.

Frustratingly though, the Sony server status page hasn't changed one bit.

All services are still showing an amber warning with a message which simply reads: "Some services are experiencing issues."

Even more annoyingly the PlayStation support twitter account, @AskPS_UK, still doesn't appear to have shared any information whatsoever in relation to what the problem is or how long it might take to solve.

Although the account is responding to fans who are (rightfully) complaining online with variations on the following message:

"We are aware of network issues that we're looking into. If you've got access problems, please keep an eye on (https://status.playstation.com/) and attempt to log in later on"

Stay tuned for more details (we haven't even taken out coat off yet!)

Original Story – UK PS4 gamers are facing a frustrating evening as the PSN PlayStation Network appears to be down, or at the very least suffering from major issues.

The popular service seemed to hit trouble in the last half hour and Independent outage website Down Detector has seen a spike in reports that PSN is not working properly across the UK and especially Europe.

The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect outages across the world.

And Sony's own Network Status Page is also showing services as being disrupted. A quick look at the page is showing that all services are impacted.

This includes anything related to Account Management, Gaming And Social, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Music.

The only advice offered by the page is the following message:

"You may have some difficulty accessing PlayStation content. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience."
