PS5 Release Date News: PS Plus Premium to be introduced in 2020 (Pic: SONY)

Gamers are eagerly awaiting any news about Sonys upcoming next-generation console – the PlayStation 5.

Although any concrete details havent been revealed, it is widely expected to be released sometime in 2020.

And while nothing is set in stone, one of the features we could be introduced to is PS Plus Premium.

This is according to an anonymous EU-based game developer, who is currently working on a PS5 launch title.

The report, via Segment Next, has revealed the Premium version of PS Plus will offer players guaranteed video game betas and alpha access.

It will also give players the ability to create private servers.

We dont know much more about the service, apart from the fact it is expected to run parallel with the normal PS Plus.

It also remains unclear how much more this feature would cost.

The release date of the PS5 hasnt been revealed, but we know Sony wont be attending E3 2019.

Therefore they are expected to reveal more details about PS Plus Premium during a State of Play stream, or at PlayStation Experience 2019.

Meanwhile, the report suggests we should see a minor tease for the upcoming console in Q2, 2019.

The PS5 release date is expected to be for 2020, in March or November, according to the developer.

The report suggests PS Plus Premium may be tested out before the release of the PS5.

Segment Next also lists specs and stats for the PS5.

However, this should be taken with a pinch of salt before anything is revealed by Sony.

According to the report, PS5 specs will allow for the console to up-scale resolution to 8K.

The developer also mentioned the retail price for the PS5, which is expected to be $499 (£382).

It'll likely be some time before we hear anything official from Sony with regards to the PS5, especially with the company skipping E3 2019.

Realistically, E3 2020 will be the place to be for PS5 info, as Shawn Layden, head of Sonys gaming arm, has already pretty much confirmed they'll be returning in a conversation with GameInformer:
