Pokemon GO: BIG change ahead of December Community Day – and you probably didnt even know (Pic: NIANTIC)

Niantic has added an update to Pokemon Go – and you may not even have noticed.

The developer has (finally!) altered the maximum number of Pokemon you can store at any one time.

Niantic has upgraded the maximum storage size to a whopping 2000 – meaning you can finally store all the Pokemon you need.

This is handy for anyone that wants to make a 'Living Pokedex' (having one of each species), or for players that keep as many high-ranking Pokemon as possible for Raid counters and gym battles.

The update has come just in time, too: Niantic has announced December's Pokemon Go Community Day after an APK leak revealed a lot of upcoming information about the app and its future plans.

Though it seemed likely that the game would simply carry on as usual with a Shiny Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch or Bagon the Niantic devs have opted instead for a sort of celebratory event with all Pokemon over the past year.

That means the December Community Day event will feature Shiny Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mareep, Larvitar, and Beldum.

Whilst for the time being we don't know how much spawn rates will be boosted, we do know plenty more about the December Community Day.

For one thing, the event is not a single three-hour window, instead it will last a couple of days. From November 30, at 1 p.m. PST to Sunday, December 2, at 11 p.m. PST.

In the UK that means a 9pm Friday start and a 7am Monday finish.

Here's the dates you want to keep for your diary:

  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: December 1, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. UTC (GMT +0)
  • The Americas and Greenland: December 1, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8)
  • Asia-Pacific: December 2, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST (GMT +9)

There are also extra bonuses which include Double Catch XP, Double Catch Stardust and Double Incubator effectiveness during the event.

And best of all, all of the featured moves from each Community Day will also be available, so your evolved Pokémon can get them once again if you missed out the first time.
