One injured and suspect detained after shooting near high school

The suspect, who is a student at Ridgway High School, had a verbal altercation with the victim, a 17-year-old student at the school, Capt. John Cregan said. The suspect then fired multiple rounds, hitting the victim twice, Cregan said.Police believe the suspect put the handgun in a backpack and gave it to someone who left the scene, Cregan said.
