Nicki Minaj has lent her support to Pete Davidson after the comedian posted a worrying Instagram message and left social media.

Pete, 25, told fans he didnt want to live on this earth anymore shortly after praising Kanye West for opening up about mental health, prompting an outpouring of love and support for the comic.

Among them was Super Bass singer Nicki, who sent her love to both Kanye and Pete and called on her fans to channel actions, rather than words.

We can be so insensitive. God bless Kanye & Pete. Being flippant about mental illness speaks more about you than them. Stop saying the word love & live it. Love is an action, she tweeted.

She later criticised social media trolls for continuing so send hate to Pete in spite of his worrying post.

Sharing a tweet which claimed people were trolling the comic because its popular or fun to hate them, Nicki added: REALEST THING I READ ALL DAY. just cuz its #Popular #Fun #ToHate. Love you baby. This made me proud.

Referencing the late Mac Miller, who died earlier this year from an accidental overdose, the popstar added: Yall did the same thing to Mac Miller until he died. The #FakeBandWagonHate.

The rapper also retweeted a post which read: It was the same with Amy Winehouse everyone hated her when she was alive and judged her on her mental health and addictions… as soon as she died her album sold over 20million and everyone labelled her the queen of soul & jazz! Nobody cares until its to late!

Pete left fans worried on Saturday after posting an Instagram about his struggles and exiting the social media platform.

I really dont want to be on this earth anymore, he told his followers.

Im doing my best to stay here for you but i actually dont know how much longer i can last. all i ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so.

Later in the day, actor Jon Cryer confirmed Pete was accounted for at SNL.
