The “Fast and Furious” franchise lives on. Shortly after the “Hobbs and Shaw” spinoff starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was confirmed, a new “Fast and Furious” TV series has landed at Netflix, Variety reports.

Heres the kicker: the show will be animated by DreamWorks. The story will reportedly follow Dominic Torettos (Vin Diesel) cousin Tony, a teenager recruited by the government to infiltrate a drag racing ring. Diesel will serve as a producer for the series, as will the executive producers from DreamWorks “Madagascar” animated shows.

Fast and Furious Animated Series From DreamWorks Animation Set at Netflix

Who exactly is this show for? It sounds like its designed to reach a younger audience, but for a movie series thats been releasing films for the better part of two decades, most fans will be much older than the target audience.

The series has already been ordered by the streaming service, so maybe Im wrong. But its tough to imagine a large audience flocking to see a show that needs to find an audience, and doesnt follow the main characters from the movies.
