Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to be the first new release in the franchise since 2015, and it will act as a sequel to its predecessor Mortal Kombat X.

It will introduce Kornika, who is a goddess that is introduced as the games newest villian as she attempts to bring order to the universe.

The game will include a new gear system which enables to ability to customise weapons and outfits for characters, although they are mostly cosmetic and wont affect a characters abilities.

Players will also be able to create custom move lists for their characters, and enjoy new gameplay moves like Fatal Blows and Krushing Blows.

The newest Mortal Combat game is set to be released on Tuesday 23 April on PS4 and Xbox One and PC.

Players in Europe will have to wait until Friday 10 May for the game to become available on the Nintendo Switch.

What versions of Mortal Kombat can you buy?

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available to pre-order from Game and Amazon, as well as on Steam for around £49.99.

Players who pre-order the game will be able to use the DLC character Shao Khan.

There is also a premium edition for £69.99 that includes both the game and the Kombat Pack.

The Kombat pack will feature six LDC playable characters, one week early access to the DLC characters, as well as seven character skins and seven sets of gear.

Game is also selling a Kollectors Edition for £279.99, which includes a steel-case and magnet, as well as a 1:1 scale Scorpion mask and a Kollector Box with a certificate of authenticity.

There is also the option of a steelbook version for £52.99.

Who are the playable characters?

The new roster for the Mortal Kombat game is currently made up of 23 main characters and two DLC characters.

Three new characters have been added – Cetrion, Geras and Kollector, and some of the characters will need to be unlocked within the game.
