He may have created one of the most popular video games ever made but Markus Notch Persson has become a considerable embarrassment for Microsoft, for spewing bigoted and right-wing views on Twitter.

Microsoft bought Minecraft from Notch for a staggering $2.5 billion in 2014 and although they now have the full rights to the game they cant hide the fact that he was the original creator.

As such hes still listed in the credits but his name no longer appears on the main menu, which previously displayed random messages such as The Work of Notch! and 110813! – a reference to his brief first marriage.

The change came with the recent 19w13a update and was spotted by fan @decrepitlab, who was able to check the games internal files to confirm that Notch has completely been removed from everything but the credits.
