The man behind MTVs hit TV series “Catfish: The TV Show” has been suspended from production after allegations about him sexually harassing coworkers surfaced this week.

Nev Schulman, the shows host and executive producer, was accused of sexual harassment in a series of videos by a woman who previously worked on the show, who identifies a lesbian. The details, however, are still pretty unclear.

The Daily Beast tries to break it down, writing in part:

A lesbian, Morgan claims Schulman—whom she refers to in the video by the pseudonym “Jack” — pushed her to “reevaluate” her sexuality and have sex with him. In another video, posted May 14, Morgan alleges that a female production assistant, “Carol,” got her drunk and took advantage of her. The next day, she claims, Schulman invited her into his hotel room, where he allegedly propositioned her.

Schulman has released a statement and denied the claims, denouncing them as “false.”

“The behavior described in this video did not happen and Im fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth,” Schulman said. “I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions — but these claims are false.”

“Catfish” began in 2012 and follows Schulman and his friend and colleague Max Joseph as they help people determine whether the people theyre talking to online are real, or strangers posing as someone else. The term “catfish” usually refers to a stranger who tries to “lure (someone) into a relationship by means of a fictional online persona.”
