Love Island star Megan Barton-Hanson has called on the stigma around sex work to change.
The 24-year-old previously worked as a stripper before finding fame on Love Island, and has now revealed that she is regularly contacted by girls who work in the sex industry and that she would like to use her platform to help.
Its a very old fashioned view that you should be ashamed of sex work or not be proud of it but at the end of the day I earned my money and I wasnt hurting anyone. 100% there should be less stigma around sex work, she said.
Guys will go out and sleep with loads of girls and get applauded but if a girl dances in her underwear shes called a sl*t and made out to be the biggest sl*g ever.
Speaking to the Mail Online, she added: It makes me happiest to use my platform for something worthwhile. I get DMs from girls with anxiety, girls who work in the sex industry and I want to use my platform help people.

I wouldnt say I see myself as an inspiration but I get messages from women of all ages, like older women who used to work in the sex industry and people who suffer with anxiety. Its selfish in a way but it does make me feel better when I help people.
During her time on the show Megan became a controversial character, judging Georgia Steele for her own flirty behaviour, not talking to Laura Anderson over her decision to crack on with Wes Nelson, and coupling up with Alex Miller and then pieing him off to return to Wes.
Yet after leaving the show in fourth place with Wes, Megan has appeared to shed her snake skin and is forging ahead with a new life as a role model.
Megan and Wes have moved in together in Essex, and in recent weeks she has spent more time in Hollywood, walking the red carpet in LA in late September alongside Ashley Graham and Vanessa Hudgens, and now working with fashion brand PLT as an ambassador.
