Its not out for a month yet and yet somehow copies of the latest Disney epic are out in the wild, and so too are its spoilers…
Its an incredibly busy spring for video games next year, with the usual quiet months of January and February stuffed full of major new releases. But that means that most of them are probably already finished and just sitting in warehouses, waiting for their release date.
That certainly seems to be the case for Square Enixs Kingdom Hearts III, which isnt out until January 29 (25 in Japan) and yet a number of people online have already got themselves a boxed copy.
So if you dont want all the plot details and unexpected cameos spoiled then you better be very careful about where you visit online, including YouTube.
There doesnt seem to be any suggestion that the leaks are not real, with director Tetsuya Nomura taking to Twitter to assure fans that the epilogue and secret movie will be added at a later date, presumably as DLC.
Whether this was a purposeful safety measure to avoid just this sort of scenario is unclear, but the implication is that theyll be added as part of a free day one patch.
Were aware that a small portion of Kingdom Hearts 3 has been circulating online before its official release. We are also aware as to how this has all happened. Were sorry to see this caused concern amongst our fans who are excited for the release, sad Nomura.
We want everyone to be able to equally experience the full game after its release, so we ask for your continued support on this matter.
Were also very grateful that our fans have been warning each other already about the spoilers. Thank you very much.
