Kanye West appears to have deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts for the third time.

It comes amid criticism of the rapper over comments he made in support of Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live.

Searching for West's Twitter profile brings up a message which says "that page doesn't exist", while his Instagram page says: "Sorry, this page isn't available."

The rapper erased his social media presence last year, and previously prior to the release of his Yeezus album in 2013.

Last weekend, after appearing as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, West was booed as he made a pro-Trump speech following transmission.

Wearing a Make America Great Again cap, he said: "If someone inspires me, and I connect with them, I don't have to believe in all their policies."

Donald Trump later tweeted: "Like many, I don't watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) – no longer funny, no talent or charm.

"It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told "no"), was great. He's leading the charge!"

West claimed he had been "bullied" backstage, adding: "They said don't go out there with that hat on."

But Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson denied that was the case, saying: "I wish I told him not to wear it."

Davidson, who later wore a Make Kanye 2006 Again hat, added: "What Kanye said after we went off the air last week was one of the worst, most awkward things I've ever seen here.

"Kanye is a genius, but like a musical genius.

"I know Kanye is saying, this is the real me. I'm off the meds. Take them!

"There's no shame in the medicine game. I'm on them. There's nothing wrong with taking them."

Kanye recently said he wanted to be known as YE – a nickname he has used for many years – and the title of his last album.
