Italys competition authority announced Tuesday that it has opened a formal probe into Amazons business practices, adding to a list of European antitrust probes into the company.

The Autorita Garanta Concorrenza e del Mercato is concerned that Amazon may offer better conditions in terms of visibility and sale optimization to retailers that outsource logistics to the U.S. tech giant than to retailers that do not.

“Such conduct may not be the result of merit-based competition, but rather of Amazons ability to discriminate on the basis of whether or not sellers adhere to the [fulfillment by Amazon] logistics service,” the press release indicated.

The investigation is the latest official probe against the digital giant in Europe.
