If we didnt know any better, wed think Anton Du Beke was looking for a scrap.

Earlier this week, the Strictly Come Dancing star was threatened by former featherweight champion Prince Naseem after he poked fun at his weight.

And now hes taking on Mr Nasty himself, Craig Revel Horwood.

Anton has called out Craig for slagging off Strictly host Tess Daly and head judge Shirley Ballas on his book tour.

Craig, 53, said of Tess: In those ten or 20 seconds where I have to answer Tesss quite dull questions actually . . . I tend to avoid them and not answer if Im super honest.

And he claimed that Shirley had a top open to her navel at her Strictly audition, telling the crowd in Oxford: Her boobs were like La BaZooKa things hanging out. It was not very, erm, Strictly. So they came in and sewed all that up. Then they had to push them down . . .  and theyre fake.

Speaking to The Sun, Anton, 52, said: I absolutely dont think Tess is boring. Tess is a delight.

He does like to run his mouth, he was teasing I think but he should know better.

The professional dancer, who has been on Strictly since the first series, then addressed the scandal between Katya Jones and Seann Walsh, saying: Whatever it is, whether its Craig saying inappropriate things, or something else like that, you end up talking about that and not the dancing.

While Anton reckons Craig should know better, he did issue an apology to Shirley for his crude comments.

Shirley, 58, told The Sun: I dont think its appropriate for anyone to make comments about anyone else — be it about their body or anything they do — when working as a team.

Im a team player and I have the backs of my fellow people. Yes, I got an apology — a sincere apology.

Thank goodness for that.

It looks like Craig may be in a better mood now, as he gave his first 10 of the series for Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalevs jive in Blackpool last weekend.

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 7.05pm on BBC1 this Saturday.
