Rylan Clark-Neal has said it's a "dream come true" to be presenting a rebooted version of Supermarket Sweep.

The 1990s television show, which was originally hosted by Dale Winton, is returning as a prime time evening programme on ITV2, with many of its original elements as well as "a sprinkle of celebrity stardust".

Fans of the cult show will be pleased to know the inflatables in the fake supermarket, the catchphrases, the trolley dash and the "memorable jumpers" will be returning.

The channel said they would be adding an injection of "cheekiness and downright silliness" as well as new games and challenges.

Singer-turned-presenter Clark-Neal said: "It's a dream come true to step inside this very special supermarket and host one of the most iconic series in television history.

"I am beside myself with excitement and will be going wilder in the aisles than ever before. Fill up your trolley, grab your bag for life and let's go shopping!"

Supermarket Sweep ran from 1993 to 2001, with a short revival in 2007.

Contestants took part in quizzes and games, culminating in a Super Sweep prize round at the end.

Catchphrases on the show included: "Check it out", "Go wild in the aisles", "Where's the money?" and "The next time you're at the checkout and you hear the beep…think of the fun you could be having on Supermarket Sweep!"

Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels and acquisitions at ITV, said: "Funny and camp in equal measure, it's a great addition to ITV2's pre-watershed line-up.

"To have Rylan back on the channel as the perfect host is a real bonus too."
