Microsoft has revealed what to expect from Gears 5s Horde mode, including two playable characters from Halo: Reach.

During an Inside Xbox presentation from Gamescom, the company announced a Halo: Reach character pack will be coming to the games Versus and Horde modes.

The playable characters are Noble Teams Emile-A239 and Kat-B320, who will have their own Ultimate abilities in a drop shield and hologram decoy respectively.

The character pack will be included in the Ultimate Edition of Gears 5 and for anyone who is a Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber – although its unclear if itll be available separately.

This isnt the first crossover for Gears 5 either, with developer The Coalition showing off Sarah Connor and T-800 characters from Terminator: Dark Fate back at E3 earlier this year.

A first trailer for Gears 5 horde mode also debuted, showing off new Ultimate abilities including x-ray vision, invisibility and the opportunity to offer support as playable drone Jack.

Jack is described as an accessible support character for series newbies in the five-player co-op mode, who floats above the battlefield and doesnt utilise the traditional cover mechanics.

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, the developer also released a campaign trailer for the game which was described as a two-sided story between the war on Sera and the troubled mind of main character Kait Diaz.

Back at Microsofts event, Metro Exodus DLC The Two Colonels was given a first trailer, which will be available to download from tomorrow (20 August).

The new DLC takes place before the events of Metro Exodus, with a second DLC pack called Sams Story set to be released in January 2020.

Other announcements include PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds supporting cross-play on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from October — with a beta week taking place in late September.

Devil May Cry 5 and Age Of Empires: Definitive Edition will also be available on Xbox Game Pass, adding to its ever impressive roster.
