Six months after Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham met in a Majorcan villa and fell in love, their romance is over as they confirm they have split.

The pair met on British reality show Love Island, and became the nations sweethearts thanks to their honesty and sincerity, and Danis unfailing desire to refuse to join the Do Bits Society on national television.

They met on the first day, with Jack choosing to couple up with Dani after she stepped forward for him, and instantly Jacks cheeky chappy persona matched with Danis take-no-prisoners East London style.

The pair became bookies favourites, with the first round of betting seeing Dani and Jack as the most likely winners of the show but there was to be eight long weeks before Caroline Flack announced the winners, and the pair had more trials and tribulations to get through.

Love on Love Island:

They were the first couple to get a night in the Hideaway and despite Jack admitting that he was getting sexually frustrated, he was keen to prove he was taking their relationship seriously, telling the camera: Itll be nice just to have a little bit of alone time. Just us two in a bed, rather thirty people across a room all shouting and screaming. We can proper talk, it will be nice.

Dani however then found out that Jack had cheated on all of his ex-girlfriends, which was an instant turn-off but Jack persisted and just a week later – and less than three weeks into their stay at the villa – Jack asked Dani to be his official girlfriend, telling her that he meant it when I said I want you to meet my mum and my family.

I really want to be with you and I want to walk out of here with you. I want to be together, he told her during an emotional chat, I wanted to know if you wanted to be my girlfriend.

Trouble in Casa Amor:

But then it was time for Love Island to open up the doors to Casa Amor, and who should be waiting for Jack there but his ex-girlfriend, Ellie Young.

I see the girls walk in, and I looked at the girl in the red bikini, Ellie, and weve got history. And yeah, its going to be a bit weird. Its a bit of a weird situation, he later told the cameras.

Luckily for Jack and Dani, Ellie revealed she no longer had a romantic interest in 26-year-old Jack and she simply wanted to clear the air about the way they left things.

With Jack, I asked for a word. It was the elephant in the room, she vowed. We obviously had to talk about it. So I just thought I wanted to clear the air with him.

However the video postcard sent to the villa really stirred the pot as it showed Jack admitting he had been dating Ellie before the show and made it look as if the boys were all sharing beds with the new girls – but what Dani wasnt shown was Jack sleeping outside and even declaring his love for her to the other boys.

(The editing from ITV earned 650 complaints from viewers who branded the move too cruel.)

Happy ever after?

However with a twist forcing the couples to put their faith in each other or move on with a new partner, the pair stayed the course and were reunited where Dani broke down in tears and realised her trust in him was sound.

The pair were then content to ride their way to the final where to the surprise of no one they scooped the prize and shared their £50,000, as well as a whopping 80% of the public vote.

But with a whirlwind publicity tour and the eyes of the nation on them, it was always going to be tough to keep things level and despite sharing their first takeaway together with each other and Instagram, introducing each other to their pals, and revealing that they had moved in together – and joined the Do Bits Society – there were always rumours that the pair were bickering.

It was claimed that due to work scheduled they had been at each others necks for a few weeks now especially because Dani in particular had been so busy with her work for In The Style and apeparances with her father, Danny Dyer, and therefore had not had time to spend with Jack.

They rubbished the claims though, and in October fans were sent into a frenzy when Dani, 22, posted a photo wearing an engagement ring, leading her Instagram followers to believe Jack, 26, had popped the question.

However, the whole thing turned out to be a prank – one that Jack wasnt even in on, as he admitted that he was woken up to phone calls from his brother and his mates, angry that he hadnt told them about the proposal.

Dani also revealed to Metro.co.uk that she and Jack were filming a new special episode for ITVBe to follow up with them post their Love Island success, but it was later claimed that despite being filmed for eight weeks in the villa, the couple found it uncomfortable having cameras in their homes and Dani, in particular, was quite vocal about not wanting her arguments with Jack filmed.

Its all over:

Dani announced the break-up on Instagram (Picture: Instagram)

Less than a week later, Dani confirmed they had ended their romance.

Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. Its been an incredible six months and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly weve come to the realisation that its not mean to be long-term, Dani confirmed on Instagram.

We both plan to stay friends, I hope youll all understand. Love, Dani xx, she added.

Their split puts the spanner into several works however; the pair share a puppy together, although neither has yet revealed who will have full custody of the dog, and they are also set to host the social media coverage for the 2019 National Television Awards together.

ITVBe have filmed their one-off special episode on the couple, while the Love Island Christmas special has also already filmed, and it is not yet know if either episode will reference the split.
