Fortnite Update 8.30 Patch Notes: Respawn Van, Server Downtime, Skins and Latest News (Pic: EPIC GAMES)

Fortnite Battle Royale, Save the World and Creative players haven't had a big update in quite some time and that means we're likely due one in the coming days following the measly content update from last week.

We already know a few things about this impending update, for one thing Epic has confirmed some features along with the fact this will be Fortnite Update 8.30.

At the time of writing it hasn't been confirmed when they'll be dropping this update, but they normally arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. We're hoping it's Tuesday if only so the game returns to its normal weekly routine.

If it does arrive tomorrow we should find out later this evening, hopefully with details of any potential downtime.

Which again, we're expecting since that's normally the case for the game when one of these 'larger' updates arrives.

If so, it could mean the game is offline for a couple of hours, starting at around 9am GMT in the morning, which is 5am EST or 2am PST for everyone else in the world.

Official patch notes for the new update should also be dropping at roughly the same time.

Keep reading for a look at some of the upcoming changes we're expecting to see in the 8.30 Update.

Respawn Vans

These have been hinted at for some time but they were confirmed last week by the developers in a new Dev Update video.

Community Manager Nathan Mooney explained how they worked in all their detail as well:

Lose a squadmate early in the match? Bring 'em back and finish strong. In the next update we'll introduce the Reboot Van to major POIs, as well as a new item to be picked up called Reboot Cards.

It's pretty straightforward: After a squadmate has been elimininated, grab their dropped Reboot Card and any surviving squadmates can activate it at a van.

Once activated, you'll definitely know, as a beacon and audio cue will be set off informing nearby players to the Reboot in progress and how many players will be arriving.

Your squad will appear one-by-one on top of the van ready to jump back into the match. Keep in mind: after your squad Reboots, the Van will be unavailable to reactivate for a duration of time.

Remember to toss some items to your Rebooted teammates to get them back into the battle.

There you have it. Thanks, Apex Legends…

Vehicle Changes

This info comes courtesy of FortniteNews.com and one of the teams most frequent writers, Ben Walker.

Allegedly the site has been sent info from an inside source which suggests that every vehicle in Fortnite will receive some major tweaks or changes in an upcoming update, potentially 8.30

Though we're unable to verify the info ourselves (and let's be honest Epic ain't going to say) we're inclined to believe the site and writer who has been pretty on it with past news and reveals.

Some grains of salt, sure, but certainly less than something thrown out into the ether on 4Chan. Here's what FortniteNews.com have said about the upcoming changes:

A source, that wishes to remain anonymous, has recently sent us evidence that in an upcoming update – most likely v8.30 – every vehicle in the game will be getting tweaked or changed.

The changes are expected to be quite noticeable in terms of handling, controls, etc. and will require players to get accustomed to them. Epic is considering a way to allow players to test the vehicle changes in Creative.

Details are scarce, and you should take this with a grain of salt – but our sources are trusted. We do not know which patch will see these tweaks implemented, but it's likely v8.30.
