Fortnite update 6.30 PATCH NOTES: Early Epic Games News – Mounted Turret, Xbox Keyboard (Pic: EPIC GAMES)

Fortnite Battle Royale and Save the World players should be all set to receive a brand new update tomorrow morning as Epic Games looks set to roll out a new v6.30 Content Update.

This hasn't been confirmed by the official Fortnite Twitter account just yet, but given the normal Tuesday schedule for Fortnite updates appears to have once again returned, we can assume the next update should arrive tomorrow as well.

Assuming that the developers stick to their usual schedule we could see the update arrive in the morning potentially with some server downtime.

New updates usually drop at around 8am GMT with patch notes also going live at the same time.

Although we can't say for certain, we already have a pretty solid idea as to what some of the new content will look like for the games next big update.

Not to mention the usual spate of bug fixes for the game.

For now, keep reading for a rundown for some of the main features expected to drop with the next big Fortnite update.

A Mounted Turret

Earlier today the in-game message of the day gave a tease for a new type of trap coming to the game soon; the Mounted Turret.

This is the first of its kind compared to other and more traditional traps in the game.

Here's the description from the in-game message: "Place the Mounted Turret and hop in to apply some suppressive fire! Careful not to overheat."

And according to Fortnite Intel, it's possible that the new turret could be very powerful:

"we can assume that the Mounted Turret has unlimited ammo and only stops firing once it has overheated."

That said little else is known about the new weapon, such as damage, fire rate, targeting, accuracy. Pretty much everything important.

Thankfully we doubt we have to wait that much longer to find out.

Keyboard & Mouse Support

Xbox One users will soon be able to use Keyboard and Mouse when playing Fortnite.

This news was revealed during the Xbox XO18 event at the weekend.

Equally, Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb told fans that the new console feature would be added to 14 games including Fortnite.

This isn't set to go live until November 14th, 2018, but we suspect the game will be prepared for this update with the new 6.30 update coming to the game.

"Additionally, we shared that the best mouse and keyboard experience on Xbox One will be available through Designed for Xbox mice and keyboards," added an official Microsoft Press Release.

"These are created for living room or desktop scenarios, come equipped with a dedicated Xbox key, and support the new Xbox Dynamic Lighting feature – enabling immersive in-game lighting effects.

"Razer will be the exclusive partner to ship a Designed for Xbox mouse and keyboard and will formally introduce the product at CES in January."

New Vehicles?

At the time of writing, there are TWO vehicles that have been spotted in the game files which are yet to come to the game.

The most recent of two was discovered last week and could be some sort of aircraft based vehicle. Here's some more info from Fortnite Intel:

"While the exact details are unknown, we know that a new vehicle which is internally called a Bumble is in the works. Audio for this vehicle includes sound effects which are similar to that which can be heard from aircraft."

The second vehicle details are more sketchy having been added some weeks back. It's called the 'Antelope.

But as Fortnite Intel reported at the time of the discovery, the assets for it were incomplete. So whether this is for something far off, or something they plan to release out of the blue, still isn't clear.

Fortnite 6.30 Update – Anything Else?

On top of everything mentioned previously, we should see the usual array of bug fixes for both Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite Save the World and mobile.

Below you can take a look at some of the main bugs which the Trello board has marked as 'fixed in the next release'.

This isn't to say they'll definitely be included in the next patch. But there's a pretty decent chance.

Battle Royale 'fixed' Issues:

  • "First Downer" Pickaxe has looping audio on Xbox One
  • Cannot see your character emoting in the Lobby.

Save the World 'fixed' Issues:

  • Players may encounter "Content Not Ready" error message on launch
  • Event Store buy button has two left arrows
  • Defenders do not function correctly after being revived

Mobile 'fixed' Issues:

  • Jerky Camera turning on Mobile
