The announcement for the games big new content update was revealed on Twitter by Epic Games official Fortnite Twitter account.

When it comes to the content for the new update, we also have a pretty decent idea already one of the new features coming to the game later today, a brand new vehicle in the form of the Quadcrasher.

This new four-wheeled monster was revealed previously by an in-game message. However, the wording of Fortnite's latest announcement has kinda hinted, or practically revealed, that it will be coming later today.

Here's the official message from Epic Games, which reads: “Get revved up! Patch v6.10 rolls out tomorrow, Tuesday, October 16.

"Patch Notes will be available once downtime begins at 4 AM ET (0800 GMT)."

Beyond the Quadcrasher we're mainly just speculating as to the possible changes, but there are a few possible new features that could be rolled out.

Fortnite Gifting

The Fortnite Gifting system was leaked quite a few months ago, but the feature has remained dormant until a few days ago when we got our first proper in-game footage of it in action within Fortnite Battle Royale.

Over the weekend one Fortnite leaker, @The1Jaren, revealed footage on Twitter which showed a short video showing exactly how the gifting system could and should work in the game.

From the looks of the video, you should be able to gift players from within the item shop and send to multiple people at once. Although it does look like there are some limitations, namely how often you can send gifts. You can also personalise your gift with a custom message.

There's still no details on when this gifting feature could be released, but with leakers finding this new content over the weekend, who's to say it won't be rolled out as part of this new update?

Fortnite Tournaments

This new Tournaments mode feature has already been announced on Monday evening and from the sounds of the announcement it will also form a key part of the new update.

It's also nailed on to arrive with the new update, as that's precisely what the latest blog post said in the opening line. Here's what Epic said.

"With the release of v6.10, were excited to introduce In-Game Tournaments which will be located in the new Events section of Fortnite Battle Royale.

"In-Game Tournaments are open to everyone and provide an opportunity for every player to compete directly alongside the pros for prizes and glory. Note that all players must opt-in for crossplay to participate in competitive events.

  • Items no longer float on water at Loot Lake.
