Fortnite Season 6 Poster REVEALED: First Season 6 Skin for Battle Pass is … a DJ Llama? (Pic: EPIC GAMES)

Epic Games have just tweeted out their first Fortnite Battle Royale Season 6 teaser poster and as expected it's a little strange.

The image shows what looks like some DJ llama.

The tweet itself is also no help, and simply reads: "All great parties need a DJ. 3 days to Season 6."

Stand by for more information and updates.

For now, you can read on for details about the official Fortnite Season 6 Start date and further rumoured new features coming to the game.

Fortnite Season 6 – When will it start?

Epic hasn't officially announced a start date for Season 6… yet.

However, it appears that thanks to the length of Seasons so far, we can expect Season 6 to begin on September 20. We can extrapolate that information based on what we know about the length of Seasons (Season 5 started on July 12, and they tend to last about two months)

Epic is usually a little bit flexible with the dates new Seasons start on though, thanks to the work that goes into the backend of the game when the changeovers occur.

So depending on the weight of the work the developers need to put in, we could be seeing more (or less!) of a wait time.

Fortnite Season 6 – Hats

Rumours abound that Fortnite will be getting hats soon, too. A set of leaks taken from datamined files of the newest build of the game suggests makeovers to older costumes could be coming to the game, supported by new custom headwear.

Data suggested that “favorite_hat,” “favorite_vehicledeco,” and “favorite_mapmarker” would be introduced to the game.

Coming off the back of the Tomato head that was introduced to the game recently, it would make sense to see more custom head items introduced – and for Epic it makes sense: more items to unlock means more rewards for players, and another revenue stream introduced to the game, too.

Fortnite Season 6 – Custom Battle Bus

In the datamine for patch 5.40, players have managed to determine that different Battle Buses will be coming to the game.

Thanks to a text field in the title, we learned Fortnite will:

"Randomly chooses between favorite Battle Buses (or all owned Battle Buses if nothing is marked as a favorite)"

One example we've seen so far is a Purple Battle bus (which we know about thanks to game files) though we've not seen it yet.

Fortnite Season 6 – Weapon Skins

The same patch revealed that we'll see a large number of high profile weapons get custom skin options, too.

This is something that's been requested heavily by the Fortnite community and is a great addition to the game – despite having a third-person view that obscures your weapon from your own view most of the time.

No skin examples have been leaked just yet, but we're expecting to hear more about them soon.

Fortnite Season 6 – New Consumables

Part of the version 5.40 datamine has revealed a new consumable items called 'Balloons'.

From the text supporting the item, it appears the consumable helps players gracefully fall, float and possibly fly – similar to the Hop Rocks item we've seen before.

'Rapid inflate balloons to help break your fall or soar to new heights!' reads the item description.

We're intrigued to see how this is going to work in-game.
