Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass: Skins, Theme, map changes, release date and more

We have just under three more weeks to wait until Fortnite Season 5 drops.

Last Season, we saw Epic introduce a new battle pass, new skins, emotes, and some really inventive map changes and some other fun updates, all presented with a superhero theme that suited that game's aesthetics amazingly well.

The (in)famous comet was the first hint we got about Season 4 starting – and that began a good few weeks before Season 4, too.

And it looks like Epic is mimicking that with Season 5 as new lairs, distress signals and more are starting to spread through the game.

First up, a special skin for anyone with 7 weeks' worth of challenges was added in the form of The Stranger.

The Stranger is a mysterious character that's seen arming a missile on one of the blockbuster screens… interesting.

After The Stranger was revealed, the evil lair's skull projection started to appear on TVs around the map, and as of update 4.4 we've seen a countdown appear in the game… but to what?

We'll find out very soon. But in the time being, here's everything we know about Fortnite Season 5 so far.

Here's how to solve the Fortnite week 8 challenge 'Search between a bear, crater, and a refrigerator shipment'

When will Fortnite Season 5 start?

If it's anything like Seasons 3/4, we'll see 5 kick off pretty much as soon as 4 is over.

If we use past Seasons as an example, we can extrapolate that Season 5 will start on July 13 – bear in mind that Epic could take the game offline for a while though, and this could affect the schedule. Generally speaking, though, that's when we're expecting Season 5 to start.

Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass – How much will it cost?

Fortnite Battle Passes have stuck to the 950 V-Bucks price point since they were introduced, so don't expect too much to change there.

Again, going by previous Seasons, you can expect Season 5 to also last 10 weeks.

Fortnite – Season 4 Week 8 challenges leaked for Battle Royale Battle Pass

Fortnite's Season 4, Week 8 Challenges have leaked, here's a look at what you've got to do.

Current challenges are already "adding to the narrative of Season 4" and likely provide some clues for where the game is heading as we approach Fortnite Season 5.

As we mentioned in our most recent Fortnite Blockbuster/Loading Screen piece, players don't need to be on the lookout for a new hidden Battlestar this week.

That's because it doesn't exist. Last week some players noticed that they already had the week 8 loading screen. But what was more strange was that it didn't include a hidden battle star anywhere.

According to the intelligent folk on the Fortnite sub-reddit, the hidden battle stars were only intended for weeks 1- 7. That's why last week users also noticed that the special blockbuster skin unlocked after players completed seven weeks of challenges.

For anyone that missed it, the skin was called The Visitor and featured a customizable head display along with a special piece of Offworld Rig back bling. You can take a closer look in the gallery above.

So, to recap. There is a loading screen for week 8, 9 and 10. But it won't feature a special hidden battle star.

However, it's likely where we'll find out biggest and best clues as to what is going to happen to the map and game as we approach Season 5. Stay tuned.
