Fortnite Playground mode: When is Playground Mode coming? What is it? What time is it out?

Fortnite's new Playground Mode is coming to the game very soon, if the latest in-game message is to be believed.

The LTM was supposed to launch quite a few weeks back but was unfortunately delayed due to problems with Epic Games 4.3 update to the game.

“You have no idea how excited we all are to see the amazing things folks do with this mode,” the dev team previously told fans.

“We're going to be paying very close attention and learning as much as we can so please make sure to share your thoughts and experiences as you try it out.”

However, it looks like the mode could be coming to the game later this week. Keep reading for a recap on how the mode works and precisely when it might arrive in game.

WHAT IS FORTNITE PLAYGROUND MODE?

Essentially Epic Games have created a new sandbox that's intended to let players practice without the stress of dying or going for the all important Victory Royale.

Here's the official blurb from Epic describing the mode:

"Battle and build to your heart's content with an extended period of time to roam around the map as well as increased resource generation.

"All treasure chests and ammo crates will be spawned, try droppin in different spots and scope out the loot.

"Friendly fire is on so you can scrimmage with your squad (up to 4 friends per match), but fear not youll respawn immediately.

WHEN IS PLAYGROUND MODE COMING TO FORTNITE?

This isn't exact, but, we do have a pretty big clue.

The latest in-game message released on Sunday included the Playground LTM in the new list of new updates.

"Let your creativity run wild in your own private island!" described the in-game update.

Again, there's no exact release date for this latest addition to the game, but, we have a pretty good idea that it's coming this week most probably on Tuesday.

Tuesday is when Fortnite has more recently begun rolling out it's new updates to the game. Both in terms of new content and new features.

These updates tend to go live in the morning following a brief period of downtime so it's possible we're just over 24 hours away from the release of the new game mode.

It's likely that this new update will be announced by Epic Games on the Fortnite Twitter account at some stage on Monday.

[UPDATE – The Working theory was correct, more precise confirmed locations to follow] – Fortnite Week 8 challenges want players to search for 7 Hungry Gnomes. Here are some possible food-related locations where we could find them…

In addition to the above, it's likely that the next Fortnite Tuesday update will introduce a series of bug fixes for the game too.

Although it's not clear if shopping carts are on the agenda just yet, having been broken for some time and removed repeatedly to players and Epic's annoyance.

We'll also likely see further clues related to upcoming skins, loading screens and further Season 5 clues found by dataminers following the release of the update.

So, it's going to be a big week for Fortnite players over the next few days.

They also like to share little hints on what will be included and these messages will be another place where players can find out more.

Either way, we'd suggest also keeping an eye on the official Fortnite Reddit page and Twitter feed for further news in the coming days.

In the meantime, stay tuned for more as we approach the games next patch.
